Tri-State Hawg Hunters Rules and Regulations
TRI-STATE HAWG HUNTERS TOURNAMENT RULES

- Registration and live-well checks will begin approx. 1.5hrs before event start, you may launch after your registration and live-well check is complete and stay within eye sight of the ramp. Registration will close 45 minutes prior to start of event.
- You may cancel your registration up till 45 minutes before start time of event for full refund.
- Fishing start time is start time of event, end time is end time of event, must be in eye shot of the dock within 30 minutes of end time. Anyone with lines in the water before start time or after end time or not in eye shot of ramp within the allotted time will be disqualified.
- In accordance of PA Fish and Boat Commission rules and for safety there is no shotgun starts. Launch numbers will be drawn at registration. Folks are reminded of the rules of the water.
- Good sportsmanship is expected of all participants during the events. Failure to follow good sportsmanship may result in disciplinary action up to and including disqualification.
- Any violation of the Angler Code of Conduct will result in disciplinary action.
- 2-3 person teams, youths under license age unlimited and do not count toward total.
- Rod limits will be determined by state in which we are fishing or enforcement agency rules for max for 2 angler teams, unless single angler team.
- Maintain a 50 yard distance from other competitors who are anchored/fishing. Be respectful, if your beat to a spot, move on.
- Boundaries are the pools listed in the event. Trailering is permitted.
- Live-wells with adequate aeration are REQUIRED, absolutely no stringers or other devices will be allowed. If a fish is struggling in a live-well, that fish should be released to give the best survival chance.
- A copy of these rules will be provided to each team, Team Captain’s are responsible for enforcement of the rules.
- There will be NO CULLING (or whatever else you want to refer to it as) of fish at the dock, in the parking lot, waiting to weigh in or otherwise. Once you arrive at the weigh in location whatever fish you have will be weighed in. The Culling of fish at the dock or otherwise stated will result in an automatic disqualification.
- Dead fish is an automatic disqualification and will require a further review of livewell setup.
- Weigh in time limits: Issue with fish health will arise from time to time. A team experiencing a fish health issue will be given 15 minutes after the last team in line has weighed in to bring their fish to the scales. Notification will be made to the team with experiencing the health issue that they are “On the clock” and a final call given at end of the 15 minutes. If they do not produce all their fish for weigh in, they will be given a no weight.
- Additionally, your fish has 15 minutes to swim off after release. Tri-State Hawg Hunters will have a representative at the release point to ensure each team’s fish have swam off.
- ALL FISH MUST BE RELEASED AND MUST SWIM OFF!
- Please notify one of the tournament directors or TSHH personnel if you leave early, it’s for the safety of all participants. We would not want to leave someone stranded on the water.
- If you do not support the like-minded conservation efforts of participants, you need not participate in our events. Help us continue the sport of catfishing for generations to come.
- Any participant or team disqualified will not receive a refund of their entry fee regardless of circumstances.
- Objections or issues must be made in writing to the tournament directors and brought forth prior to awarding the winners of the event. Everyone has a voice and a right to speak up if something is not right. Rules are set and will be adhered to for all tournaments.
- All decisions made by TSHH Tournament Directors are final. Directors are Mark Sawinski, Kenneth Fields, David Taylor Jr. and Michael Talerico.
WAIVER/RELEASE FOR TRI-STATE HAWG HUNTERS Tournament series/events:
By entering the Tri-State Hawg Hunters Tournament events, you attest to have read the accompanying event information and understand the policies and rules of this event. I know that fishing on a river or lake is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter unless I am medically able and properly trained. I assume all risks associated with my voluntary participation in this event, including but not limited to, falls and potential drowning, the effects of the weather, including extreme temperatures, boat traffic, and all conditions on the waterways, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Knowing these facts, and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, or anyone else who might claim on my behalf, covenant not to sue and WAIVE, RELEASE AND DISCHARGE Tri-State Hawg Hunters, the Tournament series and all sponsors, officials, workers or volunteers, their representatives, successors or assigns for ANY AND ALL claims or liability, whether foreseen or unforeseen, for death, personal injury or property damage and/or loss arising out of, or in the course of my participation in this event. I further grant full permission to the above-mentioned sponsors, organizers, and or agents authorized by them, to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, recordings, or other records of the event for any reasonable public or private purpose. By signing, your signature is valid on this waiver for the entire 2023 season and any/all events.
