About the American Catfishing Association

As the popularity catfishing grew, anglers and industry participants engaged in numerous conversations about the need for an entity that would unify and represent the sport of catfishing. After years of discussions and a few unsuccessful attempts to move this important effort forward, in the fall of 2019 a group of dedicated individuals and organizations made the commitment to bring this important alliance to fruition. Born was the American Catfishing Association (ACA).

After securing the commitment of various industry supporters, the ACA started to take shape. Learning of the undertaking at hand, the legendary Bill Dance stepped forward offering to assist the overall efforts becoming not only the voice and face of the new organization, but a committed team member ensuring a positive offering and outcome for all.

The objective of the ACA was and remains one of membership service and support. To create and maintain an organization that stands for what was right and to be the voice and effort of change where and when needed. It is designed to be a unifier and fellowship entity; an organization that is multi-dimensional and a conservator for conservation and regulation support. A presents where features and benefits grow, and where members can create, share, and learn. An organization that is not focused on creating its own tournament events, but one that supports new and already established events. An entity that all tournament events can rely on to provide services, incentives, and support that elevate and enhance the countless offerings and the enjoyment of their valued participants.

The ACA was created to last for generations and continue being an organization that is routinely raising the bar with improved standards and offerings dedicated to providing the very best for everyone that enjoys the sport. The American Catfishing Association stands ready and proud to be your partner for everything the wonderful sport of catfishing can and does offer.
