EVENT RULES AND POLICIES

2023 Rules
1.All state and safety laws for boats and fishing must be followed at all times.
2.In case of extreme water/weather conditions, Ohio River Catfish Series reserves the right to postpone/reschedule any event.
3.No alcoholic beverages or illegal substances are allowed on board or used during tournament hours.
4.This is a team event, teams are only limited to boats capacity ratings.
5.Boats must have live well checked before captains meeting. Livewell must be capable of keeping 3 fish alive, have a water circulation pump, and proper aeration. Oxygen use is encouraged. Tournament Director will have final say if live well is adequate, coolers and plastic storage tubs will not be acceptable forms of live wells.
6.Fishing hours will be from 8am – 4pm. Teams must be back to tournament ramp by 4:30pm.
7.Life jackets are to be worn at time of take-off, encouraged to be worn all times boat is on plane.
8.All fish must be caught by rod and reel only; No snagging.
9.All boats must launch from and return to tournament ramp. NO EXCEPTIONS
10.No Trailering and No Locking Through any dams.
11.Entry fees are $ 200 per boat, $10 late fee for signing up morning of tournament.
12.(6) Rod limit in use at any time. Unlimited rods will be allowed on boat
13.All boats must stay at least 50 yards(150ft), away from a competitors boat that is considered fishing. Fishing, defined by line(s) or anchor rope in water.
14.All teams must compete from a boat and remain in the boat during tournament hours. Teams must stay together during the entirety of the tournament.
15.Only blue catfish, channel catfish, and flathead catfish are eligible for weigh in.
16.There is a 3 fish limit per TEAM; Length limits will be determined by state law and reviewed at captains meeting before tournament.
17.All fish must be alive and in good condition to be eligible for weigh in. Dead fish will result in disqualification.
18.All fish must be released after weigh-in
19.Placing is decided by total weight, in the event of a tie the team with the heavier fish will be awarded the place. If neither team weighs a largest fish, place(s) will be split evenly.
20.Teams not back to ramp by designated time will be disqualified. NO exceptions.
21.All teams are asked to show up to weigh in, If not weighing in Please notify someone. This is for safety to ensure all boats are accounted for.
22.Launch Order will be determined by order of Paid Registration.
23.Un-sportsman like conduct will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification; this includes, fighting, arguing, offensive language directed at another person or team, or harassment of another team causing them to lose fishing time. This also includes harassment of the Directors, Sponsors or tournament itself.
