Mississippi Catfish Trail Rules for 2021.
 
All Tournaments will be $100 entry fee and optional $20 Big Fish 80/20 payout plus plaques
1) All Team captains are responsible for team members and their actions.
 
2) No alcohol to be consumed during tournament, tournament is not over until last boat weighs in.
 
3) No limit on poles in water no limit on poles in boat.
 
4) A 3 fish limit on catfish (blue,yellow and channel) no size limits at the present time.
 
5) All fish must be caught with rod/reel, no trot,limb or jug lines allowed.
 
6) No foul hooked or snagged fish will be allowed at weigh in.
 
7) All fish must be alive and healthy. NO MATTER HOW BIG, IF FISH IS DEAD IT DOES NOT COUNT. No exceptions!
 
8) Boats must maintain 75 yards from other boats while poles are in water, if a boat is bumping and has a fish ON A Line please have Catfish Class and communicate with Captain of anchored or spot-locked boat to let it be known you may get close, try not to but sometimes it may be unavoidable. Spotlocked or anchored boats please let oncoming boats know if you have a fish on so they may move farther away.
 
9) All persons must wear PFD’s at blast off (good idea to wear anytime on water) all children must wear PFD per;
Mississippi law requires that you must have a wearable personal flotation device (PFD) for each person onboard your vessel while it is in use. It also requires that children 12 years and younger wear this PFD while onboard vessels less than 26 feet long while the vessel is in use.
 
10) With today’s advanced social media and trails and Teams needing/wanting sponsors you may livestream and post fish to Facebook or Twitter only and the Trail must be tagged in post during tournament hrs.
 
11) Boats will be allowed to leave at safe light determined morning of due to fog, rain etc...
 
12) Fishing times will be 7-3:30 but boat must be back at ramp by 4pm.
 
13) If you feel you have a fish that is weak or in danger of dying, you may find (meet up, if director is fishing)Tournament director may ask for help with this if necessary. Once distressed fish is weighed it’s weight can not be culled.
 
14) All rules May be subject to change or modified.
 
15) There is no limit on people in the boat, must not exceed weight and or persons per boat manufacturer. With this being said if a 3rd plaque is needed it will be at that persons expense and ordered after the tournament.
 
16) If tournament director makes a call on ANY safety issues it must be addressed before boat is lodged.
 
17) No chumming or using any type Catfish for bait.
 
18) Any protest of rule infractions must be called out within 15 minutes of last boat weighed.
 
19) All persons fish at their own risk. Mississippi Catfish Trail nor any persons or sponsors associated with MCT will be held responsible for any damages to person or property at any tournament or any time to and from tournament.
 
20) All state and federal laws apply at any and all tournaments
 
21) The use of drip weights are prohibited, we see this as a form of chumming. We do see this as a very viable product but just not for tournament fishing.
22) All boats must have a bilge pump for/in all livewells, in order to circulate and exchange fresh water. We will enforce this rule without prejudice.
If you have a fish that's touching both ends of YOUR WELL, you must call Admin. to have fish weighed and released, we strive to make our number one goal fish safety.
